Early Childhood and Youth Development Education Summit
When: June 29, 2009, from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm
Where: The Stoney Creek Inn-Columbia, MO
Missouri P-20 Council, in partnership with key early childhood and youth development organizations, is convening an Early Childhood and Youth Development Education Summit.
The Summit will include a broad array of stakeholders including early childhood and youth development advocates, higher education faculty, state and community leaders, and other key stakeholders.
The goals of the Summit are to:
- increase awareness about the "P" portion of the P-20 initiative, including both early childhood education and school-age/after-school systems;
- discuss the early childhood and before/after-school system challenges and opportunities as they relate to higher education;
- discuss the higher education system challenges and opportunities as they relate to serving the early childhood and school-age/after-school fields; and
- build an action agenda to address the challenges and realize the opportunities identified.
The Education Summit will be held on June 29, 2009, at the Stoney Creek Inn in Columbia, MO (2601 South Providence Rd.). Check in for the Summit begins at 9:15 a.m. The Summit will convene at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend the event and lunch will be provided.
